Any individual interested in serving within this ministry is required to complete a Child Protection Application.  This includes junior workers (grades 5 through high school).  For more information please contact Denise Lenihan at 708-389-1268.

Early Childhood – Birth–Kindergarten
Scheduled  - Once a month, (9:15-12:15)
Commitment - Ideally, one year
Training - Superintendents generally conduct training of volunteers in their departments. If teaching is required you will serve alongside a seasoned veteran. Junior workers welcome to apply.
Crib/Crawlers- Toddlers and Two year olds - Nurturing gifts and a deep desire to interact with children and care for all their physical needs is required.  
Three& Four year olds through Kindergarten.- Teaching gifts helpful, published curriculum and materials supplied. A desire to interact with children on their level is necessary; organizational skills a plus.
Current openings:  We are always looking for servants to join this ministry.
 
Children’s Church – Grades 1–4
Scheduled: Once a month, (9:15- 11)  
Commitment: September-May
Training - You will be assigned to a team and will assist a veteran teacher and share responsibilities. Junior workers welcome to apply.
Teaching gifts required; published curriculum and materials supplied. Musical gifts helpful; desire to lead children in worship essential. Puppetry opportunities available.
Current Openings: 1 adult needed; 3 junior workers needed in the fall. 
 
Children’s Bible Classes – Grades 1-6  
Scheduled - Every Sunday (11-12:15)
Commitment - September-May
Training - You will be assigned to work with a partner who is currently teaching in this area.  
Teaching gifts required, published curriculum and materials supplied.  A desire to interact with school age children and guide them in relating to one another and the Lord is essential.
Current Openings: 1 adult possibly for grades 5/6.
     
Summer Substitute Teacher – Grades 1-5
Scheduled - One or more Sundays during June, July or August, (11-12:15)
Training - A single training session will be held prior to the summer season.
Teaching gifts helpful; published curriculum and materials supplied.  Desire to interact with children and guide them in relating to one another and the Lord is essential.  This is a wonderful opportunity to try out your teaching gifts and skills relating to school age children.
Openings: 48 adults and teens;
