GRACE+TRUTH — Grace+Truth is Our Context

We believe we all need grace+truth. How God meets us in our brokenness is how we engage one another in our current culture.

For a long time MVC has been established on the firm foundation of God’s truth and grace. Join us today in asking God to continue to make us more like Jesus, full of grace and truth, in our beliefs, pursuits and relationships.

PRAYERS:

John 1:14 (NIV) The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have sen his glory, the glory of the one and the only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Thank God for the way He loved us by sending His Son, and praise Jesus for being full of both grace and truth in all His being and doing.

Ephesians 4:15 (NLT) Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.

Pray that we at MVC would grow to be more and more like Jesus every day, and that we would be people who fearlessly speak the truth, but always do so in love.

Ephesians 2:4-5 (ESV) But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved.

Praise God with us for His great mercy and love and for saving us by His grace. We are alive together in Jesus! Join us in asking God to help us be extensions of that love and grace to others.

Romans 12:2 (NIV) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Pray with us that we at MVC would love God’s Word and read, study and memorize it so that we might be renewed in our minds and transformed to be more like Jesus.

Matthew 9:36 (TPT) When he saw the vast crowds of people, Jesus’ heart was deeply moved with compassion, because they seemed weary and helpless, like wandering sheep without a shepherd.

Ask the Lord Jesus to give us at MVC His heart of compassion for others. Invite the Lord to help us see people the same way that He does from an eternal perspective.

1 Peter 3:15 (ESV) But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.

Join us in praying that we would be a people at MVC who are always ready to share the hope of Jesus with others, and that the Lord would help us do so with gentleness and respect.

1 Corinthians 13:6 (NIV) Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

Pray with us that the Lord would transform us at MVC so that we are not desensitized to things that are evil, but rather turn away from evil and that we would understand, love and rejoice with the truth when we hear it.

Colossians 3:16 (ESV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Pray for our church to grow in our love for God’s Word and allow it to make its home in us and guide how we love God and others.

1 Peter 4:8 (NIV) Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.

Pray for us at MVC to be a people that is generous with how we love, so much so, that we help one another turn from sin and take steps of obedience to Jesus in faith.

Psalm 119:11 (NLT) I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Pray that each person at MVC would grow in memorizing Scripture so that we might say no to sin and death and live more holy lives to the glory of God!

2 Corinthians 13:14 (NLT) May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Pray for those at MVC that you are connected with that they might experience the grace and love of God and know the presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives today.
