FUTURE FOCUSED — The Next Generation is Our Sight

We believe our legacy is to raise a generation that knows and loves Jesus. We leverage our opportunities to help the emerging generation find their place in God’s story.

We celebrate the strong legacy and rich history of faithful servants that MVC has been blessed with. Join us today in thanking God for the many who have poured out their lives for decades and also pray for the next generation to know and love Jesus and have even greater impact!

Psalm 119:90 (ESV) Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.

Thank God for those at MVC who have come before you and have made an impact on your faith journey. Pray that you might be a blessing to others as they have been to you.

Psalm 71:18 (NIV) Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.

Thank God with us for the many faithful senior saints who are a part of the body of MVC. Pray that the Lord would continue to bless them with joy and fruitful ministry.

1 John 2:12 (ESV) I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven for his name’s sake.

Thank God for the forgiveness of sins. Pray for those who are young in their faith to continue to grow in Christ. Pray for our little ones to come to know and believe what God has done for them in Jesus.

1 John 2:13a (ESV) I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning.

Praise God for making Himself known to us! Thank God for the many mature men and women shepherds and servants that we have at MVC. Pray that the Lord would continue to bless us with mature believers who are willing to serve and lead us in the future.

1 John 2:13b (ESV) I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one.

Thank God for the power He gives us to resist the devil and sin no more! Pray for those who are growing in their faith that they would walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Pray for our teenagers and young adults to grow in this way.

1 John 2:13c (ESV) I write to you, children, because you know the Father.

Thank God for relationship with Him! Pray for those who are starting to take next steps of obedience and take their relationship with God seriously that they might be protected from sin and the evil one and grow in their faith. Pray for the many children in our church to not only believe in Jesus but have a deep and real relationship with Him.

1 John 2:14a (ESV) I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning.

Join us in praying that we would be a disciple making church, that those who are mature in Christ would pour out their lives to see others come to know and walk with Jesus. Pray for our moms and dads to disciple their kids with wisdom and grace.

1 John 2:14b (ESV) I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

Pray that our young adults and those young in their faith would love God’s Word and stand firm in their belief in Jesus. Pray for any you know facing temptation to stand strong against the evil one.

Psalm 145:4 (NLT) Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.

Every person at MVC matters, and every one of us has something to tell others about how God has worked in our lives. Join us in asking God to make MVC a people who proclaim what God has done readily to each and every generation.

1 Timothy 4:12 (NLT) Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Thank God for the children and young people that are a part of MVC. Pray that they might be equipped and released to use their gifts for the glory of God in the church and the world.

Psalm 102:18 (ESV) Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.

Thank God once again for His faithfulness to us as a church, and ask the Lord to make us a people who are great at remembering, declaring and thanking Him for the great things He has done for us!
